Down Below
Is the pipette dispenser designed so you can apply the oil directly to your perineum?
No if you did this you wouldn’t be able to sense where you were applying the oil and you may touch your perineum with the pipette – this would not be very hygienic. The reason for the pipette is to allow precise application to the finger tips without the product running down the side of the bottle and it also prevents any cross contamination that can occur when you need to reapply some more oil.
This isn’t my first pregnancy, would I still benefit from perineal massage?
Yes most definitely, the research shows that subsequent mums undertaking perineal massage reported experiencing less pain after birth. It’s also worth saying that if you had any tears or needed a cut the first time round you will now have scar tissue. This type of tissue is not as pliable so is more likely to tear when stretched therefore perineal massage is just as valuable second or even third time round.
Why is it so important that I use fragrance free perineal massage oil?
In pregnancy your perineum can be a very sensitive area and highly prone to irritations or thrush. We therefore felt it important to not put any fragrance or essential oil into our “Down Below” formulation, especially as some women find these type of ingredients leaves them feeling sore in their intimate area. In fact, Down Below is totally allergen free so it’s perfect for the most sensitive of skin.
What else can I use Down Below for?
The natural plant oils used in Down Below have some amazing properties for your skin so you can use it all over your body to soothe dry irritated skin, hydrate and moisturise and help to reduce the appearance of stretch marks either in pregnancy or when you are a new mum.
Has Down Below won any awards?
Yes! Down Below has won the Mother & Baby shortlist awards in 2018.

Pure Bliss
Can I use Pure Bliss on my haemorrhoids during pregnancy?
Yes you can. We would suggest using a smaller compress so it just covers your back passage/anal area where you are feeling the discomfort.
Can you use Pure Bliss in the bath?
If you were to add Pure Bliss to a bath the dilution wouldn’t be the same and would therefore not be as effective. The best method for use is that of the compress.
Can I use Pure Bliss if I have a caesarean section?
Caesarean section wounds can be very sore and tender and they are prone to becoming infected. One of the key ingredients of Pure Bliss has anti-fungal and antiseptic properties so this makes the product ideal for after a caesarean section. For the first 24 hours you will have a dressing over your wound but once this is removed Pure Bliss can be used in exactly the same way; just place the compress over your wound area instead.
My Pure Bliss is a brown colour with bits in – is it alright?
Don’t worry! This is exactly how Pure Bliss is supposed to look. This is due to the nature of the ingredients used and the finished nature of the product; the formulation is known as a tincture rather than an oil or lotion.
I’ve still got some Pure Bliss left and everything feels back to normal now after birth. It’s a shame to throw it away – can I use it for anything else?
Yes! Pure Bliss can be kept for a year after opening and during that time you could certainly use it to soothe any other sore areas/cuts/grazes etc.

Bosom Buddies
Can I use Bosom Buddies during pregnancy?
Bosom Buddies have been formulated and tested to use the very best essential oils available to support breastfeeding issues and therefore this product is only intended for use in the postnatal period by new mums.
I have some oils left and now I’m no longer breastfeeding what can I use them for instead?
All three Bosom Buddies smell gorgeous and have relaxing, uplifting properties so could be used in an oil burner or diffuser - your room will be filled with a beautiful scent. Alternatively, a few drops could be added to a base oil to create beautiful massage oil. Imagine using “Ooh” for a swollen foot massage after birth! “Ouch” for sore muscles or “Aah” as a general “pick me up” shoulder massage for a frazzled mum!
When should I use these oils?
To help ease full, heavy tender breasts, engorgement or symptoms of mastitis you will benefit from applying the “Ooh” compresses just prior to each feed so that the baby can then help to empty the breast after the oils have helped to reduce the inflammation and encouraged the breast tissue to contract.
For low milk supply it is beneficial to apply the “Aah” compresses before each feed to help reduce any anxiety and encourage hormones involved in milk production and flow in readiness for the next feed.
You may prefer to apply the “Ouch” compresses after each feed to help with any pain or discomfort experienced during the feed and ease sore nipples before the next feed comes around.
But don’t worry if you forget because you can use the oils as often and whenever you feel the need and in the early days it is often impossible to predict or pre-empt the next feed and some women will prefer to use compresses just at a time when have a moment to themselves!
