So, you are expecting?

This is going to be a moment in your life where your life changes dramatically, more than ever before. Each day, week and month are going to bring you unique thoughts and feelings, which should not be bottled up.

We would like to introduce you to the world of pregnancy journaling. That little piece of the internet, a scrapbook or a diary. It’s all a wonderful way to keep a record of all the experiences you’re going through, the amazing, scary and even your hopes and dreams for life with your new arrival.

So, this all sounds great right? But what exactly is journaling...

A pregnancy journal is a diary that you keep during the course of your pregnancy to detail your experiences, emotions, milestones, and memories.

It’s a place where you can just off load, speak about your first midwife appointment, the first time you heard your baby's heartbeat, that first outfit you can’t wait to put them in or the fact you are starting to scare yourself about the birth.

It’s not only a great keepsake to look back on when your baby is all grown up, it’s an amazing way to offload all those thoughts that are racing around your head, keeping you up all night.

Is pregnancy journaling for you?

In all honesty it might not be, it isn’t for everyone and you might give it a try and then it sits on your bedside table as a great drinks' coaster and that is completely fine.

However, if you are someone who lies in bed at night with a million and one things going on in your head it could possibly become one of your favourite hobbies that you even continue after your pregnancy.

The choice is a completely personal one, but you have read this far so you must be a little interested, shall we take you through how to pick a journal?

Picking a journal could honestly take most of your pregnancy as there are some stunning ones out there, some with prompts, some with inspirational quotes, some pricey and some not so much.

It’s definitely up to why and what you might want to use this journal for in the future. If you are planning to keep it forever to look back on your thoughts, to share with your child as they grow a good quality Journal that looks beautiful is most probably the one for you.

However, if you are using it to just scribble down thoughts to help any anxiety and the thought of reading it back makes you cringe, then a simple note book will do the trick.

Or for the mums-to-be who enjoy writing and may already have a little piece of the internet out there in the form of a blog, this could be an amazing place to write all your thoughts. Take it from us we know how much other mums take comfort in the ramblings of a women in their situation.

And then there are the scrapbookers of the world, if you are a creative or visual person, scrapbooking is an amazing place to keep a visual and verbal representation of your pregnancy.
